The History of Anchor Point Church

 

During the summer and fall of 2002 ~ Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Plainview, MN started prayer meetings.

 

In spring of 2003 ~ A women’s bible study was formed in Wabasha.

 

On June 8, 2004 ~ The elders at Trinity Evangelical Free Church held a meeting with people from Wabasha about starting a church plant.

 

On August 29, 2004 ~  A meeting was held at Larry and Debbie Stegemann’s home.  The highlight was the book, “What the Spirit is Saying to the Churches” (Blackaby).  And the question was posed, “Do you believe God would have us plant a church in Wabasha?”

 

On September 11th, 2004 ~ A joint meeting between the elders of Trinity Evangelical Free Church, and the Building Feasibility Task Force, with the decision, “we will make church planting a priority.

 

On September 16th, 2004 ~ A meeting held with Bob Niewendorp and the Wabasha families to explain church planting process.

 

On October 14, 2004 ~ Dan Moose met with Wabasha families to do some assessing for Church Planter search.

 

On November 4th, 2004 ~ A grant proposal letter was set to start a church plant in Wabasha.

 

On November 14th, 2004 ~ A surprise presentation of the grant was given to the people of Wabasha.

 

On February 26, 2006 ~ An introduction letter was sent to Trinity Evangelical Free Church introducing the Langmades as candidates for leading the church plant.

 

On March 4-5, 2006 ~ The Langmades visited as possible candidates to lead the church plant in Wabasha.

 

March 15th, 2006 ~ A letter was sent to Trinity Evangelical Free Church announcing the call and affirmation of Paul and Lori Langmade to plant a church in Wabasha.

 

May 6th, 2007 ~ A Commissioning Service for Anchor Point Church was held at Trinity Evangelical Free Church.

 

May 13th, 2007 ~ Anchor Point Church held their first church service at Maple Grove Apartments in Wabasha.

 

September 9th, 2007 ~ Anchor Point Church held their grand opening at the Wabasha-Kellogg High School Auditorium.
